Los Datos Concretos

Fact: I don't expect you to read this blog religiously.
Fact: My mom will read this blog religiously.
Fact: I am only starting to blog because I am moving to a foreign country which might make for an interesting blog, at least, that's my cover for starting a blog.
Fact: I might get hooked and still blog after I return....like I said, I don't expect you to read this religiously.
Fact: I feel like Carrie Bradshaw right now...except that I'm writing this in my sisters' basement in a midwestern town instead of New York and instead of wearing Gucci or Chanel, I'm wearing baggy pajama shorts with fortune cookies on them and a giant grey (gray?) Scheels T-Shirt that I got for free from applying for a credit card...I bet Carrie Bradshaw sometimes wishes she had fortune cookie pajama pants, I mean, who doesn't?

The countdown is dwindling! After almost 2 years of eager anticipation, I am now down to 6 measly days! The question on everyone's lips is, "Are you ready?"To this I feel like replying, "Have you ever met me? Since when am I ready for anything? Did I not just lose my cell phone for the thirtieth time? Am I not still trying to fix two cameras which are inexplicably broken?" Of course I'm not ready yet! But I've always thought "sink or swim" was a good saying. I could not have earned my superhero identity of "the Procrastinator" (foreboding, isn't it?) if I hadn't done well under pressure. Ready or not, I'm going to Ecuador in a week. If I had everything done ahead of time, I'd be bored. This makes things more interesting...right?

  1. So off you are on your grand adventure. The trip to the airport went well with minor difficulties at security. Happy traveling today!
